NATURAL MEN’S HEALTH: ASTHMA-SUPPLEMENTS
Continue on the prescribed medicine from your doctor and add the following supplements.
A teaspoon of liquid echinacea twice a day or three to four tablets daily. Taken during seasonal changes and winter, this helps to prevent the onset of upper respiratory problems.
Magnesium in powder form: take one teaspoon, twice a day. If you can only obtain tablets then take one 500 mg tablet twice a day. Magnesium assists in relaxing the muscles.
Vitamin C and bioflavonoids in tablet or powder form: 500 mg of each, twice a day.
A herbal tonic made from equal parts of echinacea, euphrasia, liquorice, thyme, astragalus and peppermint: one teaspoon two or three times a day.
Coenzyme Q10 - an anti-oxidant that is very useful for treating asthma and emphysema. I suggest 60 to 90 mg, twice a day. It combats damage caused by free radicals, especially if you have been taking long-term medication for asthma. It's also a must for smokers or those who have smoked in the past.
